1. Overview

SignMint: PDF Editor & Tools ("SignMint", "the application", "we", "us", or "our") provides tools for viewing, filling, signing, organizing, protecting, and converting PDF documents and images directly on your mobile device.

SignMint is architected with a privacy-first, on-device processing model. Core document workflows—including form filling, drawing signatures, merging, splitting, reordering pages, password protection, and format conversion—are executed locally on your device hardware without transmitting your document contents to SignMint-owned servers.

2. Document Processing & Storage Architecture

When you open, edit, sign, or convert a document using SignMint:

• On-Device Execution: All PDF parsing, form rendering, signature compositing, page manipulation, and document rendering take place locally using on-device engines.
• No Cloud Document Uploads: SignMint does not upload your PDF files, images, or exported documents to any remote SignMint servers.
• User File Control: Your original files remain in your device storage or chosen cloud storage under your direct control. SignMint only writes new files when you explicitly choose to save, export, or share a document.

3. File Access & Android Permissions

SignMint respects Android modern storage access best practices:

• Scoped File Pickers: SignMint uses system-managed pickers (the Android Document Picker and Photo Picker) allowing you to grant access strictly to the specific files or photos you choose to open.
• Temporary Content URIs: When you select a document, SignMint receives temporary read/write permission for that specific content URI to complete your requested operation.
• No Unrestricted Storage Access: The application does not request or require broad, unrestricted access to your entire device storage or photo library.

4. Signatures and Initials

SignMint offers digital signing tools, allowing you to draw, place, and reuse signatures or initials:

• Local Processing: All signature vector strokes and imported signature graphics are generated and rendered strictly on your device.
• Optional Saved Signatures: If you explicitly choose to save a signature or initial for future reuse, it is stored in the application's private, encrypted-by-OS internal storage directory.
• User Deletion: You can view and permanently delete any saved signature directly from the Signature Library in the app at any time.
• Export Independence: Deleting a saved signature asset from your library will not alter or invalidate PDF files that you have previously generated and exported.

5. Recent Documents History

To facilitate quick access to documents you frequently edit, SignMint maintains a local Recent Documents list:

• Local Metadata Only: The list stores non-sensitive operational metadata locally on your device, such as display file name, content URI reference, last opened timestamp, file size, and page count.
• Clearing History: You can clear your recent document history at any time using the in-app privacy controls. Clearing the history removes app-internal records only and does not delete your actual document files from storage.

6. Passwords & PDF Security Operations

When using security features such as Lock PDF (adding password protection) or Unlock PDF (removing password protection from a file you possess the password for):

• Passwords entered by the user are processed in-memory solely to perform the requested cryptographic operation.
• SignMint does not persistently save, log, or transmit PDF passwords.
• Passwords are never provided to advertising networks or third-party SDKs.

7. Temporary Files & Cache Management

During editing, multi-page organization, image conversion, or export preparation, SignMint may generate temporary working files in the application's private cache directory.

• Temporary files are stored in app-isolated internal storage inaccessible to other apps.
• Temporary cache is automatically cleaned up when sessions end or when storage maintenance routines execute.
• You can manually clear all temporary files at any time via the in-app Privacy & Security controls.
• Clearing the temporary cache does not delete completed documents you have saved to your device storage.

8. Document Sharing & Export

When you tap the Share button in SignMint:

• The application prepares a temporary content URI using Android's secure FileProvider and opens the standard Android system share sheet.
• The exported document is provided solely to the third-party application or service you explicitly select (e.g., email client, cloud drive, messaging app).
• Once transferred, the handling of your document is governed by the privacy policy and terms of the recipient application.

9. Advertising & Google AdMob Disclosure

SignMint is supported by advertising delivered via Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).

• No Document Data in Ad Requests: SignMint does not provide document contents, PDF file bytes, filenames, signatures, initials, filled text field values, or passwords to Google Mobile Ads for ad targeting.
• Google Data Collection: Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect and process certain device information, general location (such as IP address), advertising identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID), app interaction data, and diagnostic information in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
• Consent & Personalization: Depending on your jurisdiction (such as the EEA/UK under GDPR), you may be presented with a consent form to manage ad personalization preferences.

10. Internet Access & Offline Capabilities

SignMint is designed so that its core PDF viewing, form filling, document signing, organizing, and conversion features function completely offline without requiring an active internet connection.

Internet connectivity is utilized strictly for:

• Loading advertisements via Google Mobile Ads.
• Opening external web links (e.g., this Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, or app store listings).
• Standard platform diagnostic services where applicable.

If your device is offline or an ad fails to load, normal document processing remains fully operational.

11. Data Selling & Commercialization

SignMint does not sell the contents of your documents. We do not rent, trade, monetize, or disclose your document contents, personal signatures, or filled form entries to data brokers or commercial third parties.

12. Children's Privacy

SignMint is a general-audience productivity tool. SignMint is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to third-party ad networks through the app without parental consent, please contact us.

13. Data Security

We employ industry-standard on-device protections, including Android application sandboxing, scoped storage pickers, and secure ContentProvider implementations. However, no electronic storage system or transmission method is 100% secure. Users are encouraged to maintain appropriate screen locks and device-level security to protect their local files.

14. Data Retention Summary

• Document Contents: Processed in volatile memory/temporary session files; not retained by SignMint after completion.
• Saved Signatures / Initials: Retained in private app storage until you delete them in the app or uninstall the application.
• Recent History Metadata: Retained locally until you clear recent history in the app or clear app data.
• Temporary Cache: Retained short-term for performance; cleared automatically or on demand.
• Saved / Exported Files: Stored in your chosen device directory; managed directly by you via your device's file manager.

15. User Privacy & Security Controls

SignMint provides built-in privacy controls in the application settings:

• Clear Recent History: Clears the list of recently opened document shortcuts and associated metadata.
• Delete Saved Signatures: Permanently removes stored signature and initial assets from app storage.
• Clear Temporary Files: Wipes cached editing drafts and preview cache files from private storage.

16. Third-Party Services

The following third-party SDKs and platform services are integrated into SignMint:

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Advertising delivery and consent management (Privacy Policy).
• Google Play Services: Core platform framework, app distribution, and security verification.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements in our app architecture, legal requirements, or platform policies. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date" at the top of the policy.
